ABOUT US

Putting it Together Productions was formed in 2008 to present concerts in aid of charity with emphasis on the 'musical experience', that is, a large chorus, a full orchestra and a cast of fantastic soloists.

Our first venture, Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, will be presented in March 2009 at the Colosseum (Watford Town Hall), venue for many BBC recordings and other high profile concerts. The concert will involve around 80 people on stage, as it combines the very best of local talent in the principal roles and chorus as well as the large orchestra the piece was written for originally.

Along with the concert, we are using the day to encourage people in the local community to come to an ‘open-event’ (afternoon/early evening) where they will be able to meet people who are involved in producing and staging amateur theatre in the area.

Many groups perform at the Palace Theatre, Watford, The Alban Arena, St Albans, the Radlett Centre, Radlett and Watersmeet, Rickmansworth, providing local audiences with a wide range of shows from Gilbert & Sullivan to Strauss and Lerner & Lowe to Lloyd-Webber. This will be their opportunity to showcase their society and what it does. See the links on the left for who is taking part.

Being part of local operatic society can sound a bit stuffy. But look down the list of shows they do and you will find a wide variety of engaging, fun, challenging and modern pieces to suit all tastes. It's also a great way to meet new people, share a hobby, and have a drink after a demanding rehearsal. Don't think you can sing or act? There's always plenty to do backstage and with sound and lighting. You too can be part of team that makes the magic that is theatre!
